The iconic Hotel Horsa Nacional in Brazil, designed by Oscar Niemeyer, has recently been renovated and reopened as the Gran Meliá Nacional. After being closed for nearly 20 years, It is now run by Melia Hotels International. It is the only hotel in Rio that has it’s own heliport.
Original artworks including the Alfredo Ceschiatti sculpture “Mermaid” and the Pedro Corrêa de Araújo hanging sculpture in the lobby have been preserved and restored.
